Rio Mesa Spartans (Oxnard, CA) backers were in high spirits Monday as they witnessed their basketball squad thwart the host Foothill Tech Dragons (Ventura, CA), 70-51 in a non-league bout.

With the win, Rio Mesa upgrades its record to 7-6 on the season. The Spartans host Pacifica (Oxnard, CA) to clash with the Tritons in a Pacific View bout on Wednesday, May 12. The Tritons go into the bout with a record of 2-11. Pacifica lost 74-40 in their recent league bout against Oxnard (Oxnard, CA)

Next up, the Dragons clash with the Santa Clara Saints (Oxnard, CA) in a Tri-Valley bout, on Thursday, May 13. Foothill Tech will attempt to upgrade on its 5-7 season record. The Saints go into the bout with a 6-6 record after their 40-39 league loss to St. Bonaventure (Ventura, CA).
