The Boardman Spartans softball team scored 5 runs and limited the visiting Mentor Cardinals to 1 in the Spartans non-league triumph on Wednesday.

With the triumph, Boardman moves its record to 17-9 on the year. The Spartans travel to Harding (Warren, OH) to clash with the Raiders in a All-American game on Thursday, May 13. The Raiders come into the game with a record of 0-11. Harding lost 15-0 in their recent non-league game against Jefferson Area (Jefferson, OH)

In their next game, the Cardinals clash with the Brunswick Blue Devils (Brunswick, OH) in a Greater Cleveland game, on Friday, May 14. Mentor will attempt to move on its 17-6 season record. The Blue Devils come into the game with a 6-5 record after their 9-8 non-league loss to Strongsville (Strongsville, OH).
