With both teams struggling offensively, the Screaming Eagles used 5 walks in the bottom of the 4th inning to score the first two runs of the game and went on to a 5-0 shutout win over Frederick. Meanwhile, winning pitcher Calvin Reighard survived some wildness of his own to pitch six scoreless innings and lead seneca valley to their big quarter-final win. Chris Heckhaus picked up the save with a scoreless 7th inning to complete the shutout.The Eagles had a 2 run lead and then the Eagles scored 3 insurance runs in the bottom of the 6th with Steven Costa delivering a key 2-out, 2 RBI single to set the final score. Heckhaus led the offense with 2 hits and Nick Fahs had a single, two walks and scored 2 runs. The Eagles improve their record to 14-4 after capturing their 8th straight win. Seneca Valley advances to the regional semi-finals as they will host a game on Wednesday, May 15 at 4:00 pm at The Roost.
