Helix Highlanders (La Mesa, CA) backers exited the stadium thrilled Wednesday as they saw their softball squad nip the visiting Valhalla Norsemen (El Cajon, CA), 5-0 in a league challenge.

The Highlanders now own a 18-4 record. They take the field next when they host West Hills for a Grossmont Hills challenge on Friday, May 21. Helix will battle a Wolf Pack squad coming off a 11-2 league loss to Granite Hills (El Cajon, CA). The Wolf Pack record now stands at 4-7.

With the loss, Valhalla falls to 10-8 on the campaign. The Norsemen host Grossmont (El Cajon, CA) to battle the Foothillers in a Grossmont Hills challenge on Friday, May 21. The Foothillers enter the challenge with a record of 6-12. Grossmont lost 12-7 in their recent league challenge against Steele Canyon (Spring Valley, CA)
