The Western Branch Bruins overwhelmed the visiting Oscar Smith Tigers softball squad by a count of 25-2 in Monday's league challenge.

Next, the Bruins meet the Deep Creek Hornets (Chesapeake, VA) in a Southeastern challenge, on Tuesday, May 20. Western Branch will attempt to upgrade on its 16-3 season record. The Hornets go into the challenge with a 13-6 record after their 4-1 league win over Great Bridge (Chesapeake, VA).

The Tigers (4-13) will now prepare for their challenge against Lakeland (Suffolk, VA). The Cavaliers go into the Southeastern challenge with a 3-13 record. In their last challenge, Lakeland was routed by Grassfield (Chesapeake, VA), 11-0, in a league challenge.
