Marist Spartans (Eugene, OR) backers exited the stadium thrilled Tuesday as they saw their softball squad nip the visiting Stayton Eagles (Stayton, OR), 6-0 in a non-league challenge.

The Spartans now own a 26-3 record. They take the field next when they travel to Cascade for a non-league challenge on Saturday, June 4. Marist will battle a Cougars squad coming off a 5-3 non-league win over La Grande (La Grande, OR). The Cougars record now stands at 22-4.

With the loss, Stayton falls to 17-7 on the campaign.
