Iowa High School Softball - Algona can't get by Gilbert
May 31, 2025: Gilbert, IA 50105 The Gilbert Tigers edged the visiting Algona Bulldogs softball squad by a count of 6-5 in Saturday's non-league challenge.
Next, the Tigers meet the North Polk Comets (Alleman, IA) in a Raccoon River challenge, on Monday, June 2. Gilbert will attempt to upgrade on its 3-1 season record. The Comets enter the challenge with a 3-1 record after their 6-1 non-league win over Muscatine (Muscatine, IA).
The Bulldogs now hold a 1-3 record. They play next when they travel to Ogden for a non-league game on Saturday, May 31. Algona will face a Bulldogs squad coming off a 7-5 league win over Interstate 35 (Truro, IA). The Bulldogs record now stands at 2-1.
