Iowa High School Softball - Charles City holds off St. Ansgar
June 12, 2024: St. Ansgar, IA 50472 Spectators at Wednesday's non-league match between the Charles City Comets (Charles City, IA) and the host St. Ansgar Saints (St. Ansgar, IA), witnessed Charles City's softball squad tip St. Ansgar by a count of 3-1.
The Comets now sport a 14-1 record. They play next when they host Clear Lake for a non-league match on Thursday, June 13. Charles City will face a Lions squad coming off a 13-3 non-league loss to St. Edmond (Fort Dodge, IA). The Lions record now stands at 8-6.
With the loss, St. Ansgar moves to 13-4 on the season. The Saints travel to Algona (Algona, IA) to face the Bulldogs in a non-league match on Thursday, June 13. The Bulldogs go into the match with a record of 5-7. Algona lost 2-0 in their recent league match against Webster City (Webster City, IA)
