Iowa High School Baseball - Dowling Catholic loses to Johnston
July 8, 2025: Johnston, IA 50131 Johnston Dragons (Johnston, IA) fans left the game pleased Tuesday as they observed their baseball squad achieve victory over the visiting Dowling Catholic Maroons (West Des Moines, IA), 6-0 in a league match.
With the triumph, Johnston advances its record to 22-11 on the season. The Dragons host Ankeny (Ankeny, IA) to battle the Hawks in a CIML match on Wednesday, July 9. The Hawks come into the match with a record of 14-22. Ankeny lost 7-1 in their recent non-league match against North Polk (Alleman, IA)
The Maroons now have a 12-13 record. They put it on the line next when they travel to Ottumwa for a non-league match on Friday, July 11. Dowling Catholic will battle a Bulldogs squad coming off a 16-4 non-league loss to Southeast Polk (Pleasant Hill, IA). The Bulldogs record now stands at 22-13.
