In Thursday's non-league challenge, the host Mallard Creek Mavericks volleyball team scored a 3-0 victory over the South Mecklenburg Sabres.

The Mavericks (1-2) will now prepare for their challenge against Palisades (Charlotte, NC). The Pumas enter the non-league challenge with a 1-3 record. In their last challenge, Palisades was beaten by Independence (Charlotte, NC), 2-1, in a non-league challenge.

Next, the Sabres meet the Providence Panthers (Charlotte, NC) in a non-league challenge, on Wednesday, August 21. South Mecklenburg will attempt to upgrade on its 1-2 season record.
