Texas High School Volleyball - Gregory-Portland tips Vela

Fans at Saturday's non-league contest between the Gregory-Portland Wildcats (Portland, TX) and the host Vela Sabercats (Edinburg, TX), observed Gregory-Portland's volleyball team hold off Vela by a count of 2-1.

The Wildcats (6-3) will now prepare for their contest against Corpus Christi Moody (Corpus Christi, TX). The Trojans enter the 5A Region IV District 29 contest with a 3-1 record. In their last contest, Corpus Christi Moody was tipped by LEE (San Antonio, TX), 2-0, in a non-league contest.

Next, the Sabercats encounter the Pioneer Diamondbacks (Mission, TX) in a 5A Region IV District 31 battle, on Tuesday, August 19. Vela will attempt to improve on its 2-2 season record. The Diamondbacks go into the battle with a 5-1 record after their 2-0 non-league win over Southwest Legacy (Von Ormy, TX).
