The Independence Patriots volleyball team scored 3 points and restricted the visiting Porter Ridge Pirates to 1 in the Patriots non-league triumph on Wednesday.

The Patriots now possess a 8-2 record. They play next when they travel to Charlotte Catholic for a Southwestern 4A outing on Thursday, August 29.

With the loss, Porter Ridge drops to 4-1 on the campaign. The Pirates host West Cabarrus (Concord, NC) to play the Wolverines in a non-league outing on Thursday, August 22.
