North Carolina High School Volleyball - Independence can't hold off East Mecklenburg

The East Mecklenburg Eagles tipped the visiting Independence Patriots volleyball squad by a final score of 3-2 in Tuesday's league game.

Next up, the Eagles confront the Porter Ridge Pirates (Indian Trail, NC) in a non-league game, on Monday, October 7. East Mecklenburg will attempt to advance on its 12-7 season record. The Pirates enter the game with a 6-11 record after their 3-1 non-league loss to Hickory Ridge (Harrisburg, NC).

The Patriots (16-5) will now prepare for their game against Union Academy (Monroe, NC). The Cardinals enter the non-league game with a 9-7 record. In their last game, Union Academy was tipped by Gray Stone Day (Misenheimer, NC), 3-0, in a league game.
