North Carolina High School Football - Piedmont can't hold off Concord
August 22, 2024: Concord, NC 28025 Concord Spiders (Concord, NC) fans went home in high spirits Thursday as they saw their football team tip the visiting Piedmont Panthers (Monroe, NC), 16-13 in a non-league battle.
With the win, Concord improves its record to 1-0 on the season. The Spiders travel to Mount Pleasant (Mt. Pleasant, NC) to play the Tigers in a non-league battle on Thursday, August 29. The Tigers go into the battle with a record of 1-0. Mount Pleasant won 14-2 in their recent non-league battle against Carson (China Grove, NC)
The Panthers now have a 0-1 record. They play next when they host Central Cabarrus for a non-league battle on Thursday, August 29. Piedmont will play a Vikings team coming off a 24-2 non-league loss to Sun Valley (Monroe, NC). The Vikings record now stands at 0-1.
