The crowd at Thursday's non-league contest between the Strayhorn Mustangs (Sarah, MS) and the host Myrtle Hawks (Myrtle, MS), observed Strayhorn's football squad defeat Myrtle by a count of 14-0.

The Mustangs now own a 1-0 record. They play next when they travel to Tishomingo County for a non-league contest on Friday, September 1. Strayhorn will play a Braves squad coming off a 21-13 non-league win over Alcorn Central (Glen, MS). The Braves record now stands at 1-0.

Coming up next, the Hawks play the Potts Camp Cardinals (Potts Camp, MS) in a non-league contest, on Thursday, August 31. Myrtle will attempt to upgrade on its 0-1 season record. The Cardinals go into the contest with a 0-1 record after their 41-0 non-league loss to Falkner (Falkner, MS).
