Kankakee Valley Kougars (Wheatfield, IN) fans were pleased Saturday as they observed their soccer team hold off the host Merrillville Pirates (Merrillville, IN), 2-1 in a non-league challenge.

Next, the Kougars confront the Munster Mustangs (Munster, IN) in a Northwest Crossroads challenge, on Wednesday, August 30. Kankakee Valley will attempt to better on its 3-1 season record.

The Pirates now have a 1-3 record. They take the field next when they travel to La Porte for a Duneland challenge on Wednesday, August 30.
