Georgia High School Softball - Screven County sneaks past Claxton
August 26, 2025: Sylvania, GA 30467 The Screven County Gamecocks (Sylvania, GA) softball nipped the visiting Claxton Tigers (Claxton, GA), 8-7 in Tuesday's league outing.
The Gamecocks now sport a 6-2 record. They put it on the line next when they host Metter for a 1A D-II Region 3 bout on Thursday, August 28. Screven County will clash with a Tigers team coming off a 7-1 league win over Jenkins County (Millen, GA). The Tigers record now stands at 4-3.
Next up, the Tigers face the Emanuel County Institute Bulldogs (Twin City, GA) in a 1A D-II Region 3 contest, on Wednesday, August 27. Claxton will attempt to improve on its 1-2 season record. The Bulldogs enter the contest with a 8-2 record after their 9-2 league win over Portal (Portal, GA).
