The Draughn Wildcats volleyball team (Valdese, NC), went down 3-1 in Monday's non-league challenge with the visiting Alexander Central Cougars (Taylorsville, NC)

The Cougars (2-3) will now prepare for their challenge against Bunker Hill (Claremont, NC). The Bears come into the non-league challenge with a 1-4 record. In their last challenge, Bunker Hill defeated Lincolnton (Lincolnton, NC), 3-1, in a league challenge.

Next, the Wildcats encounter the Owen Warhorses (Black Mountain, NC) in a Western Highlands 1A/2A challenge, on Thursday, September 1. Draughn will attempt to move on its 2-3 season record. The Warhorses come into the challenge with a 4-2 record after their 3-0 non-league win over North Buncombe (Weaverville, NC).
