In Thursday's non-league game, the Metro-East Lutheran Knights (Edwardsville, IL) football team overcame the host Unity Christian/Mt. Pulaski Lions (Decatur, IL), by a tally of 28-6.

In their next game, the Knights battle the St. Thomas More Sabers (Champaign, IL) in a non-league game, on Friday, September 6. Metro-East Lutheran will attempt to better on its 1-0 season record. The Sabers enter the game with a 0-1 record after their 20-6 non-league loss to Pawnee/Lincolnwood (Pawnee, IL).
