The Atkinson County Rebels softball squad (Pearson, GA), was routed 16-1 in Thursday's league contest with the visiting Lanier County Bulldogs (Lakeland, GA)

With the triumph, Lanier County improves its record to 9-2 on the year. The Bulldogs travel to Westfield School (Perry, GA) to face the Hornets in a non-league contest on Tuesday, September 3. The Hornets enter the contest with a record of 7-4. Westfield School lost 13-8 in their recent non-league contest against Tattnall Square Academy (Macon, GA)

The Rebels now hold a 4-4 record. They play next when they travel to Clinch County for a 1A D-II Region 2 contest on Tuesday, September 3. Atkinson County will face a Panthers squad coming off a 9-3 league loss to Irwin County (Ocilla, GA). The Panthers record now stands at 7-5.
