Fans at Saturday's non-league contest between the Union Knights (La Porte City, IA) and the host Independence Mustangs (Independence, IA), observed Union's volleyball squad nudge Independence by a score of 2-1.

With the win, Union improves its record to 2-0 on the season. The Knights travel to Jesup (Jesup, IA) to encounter the J-Hawks in a non-league battle on Tuesday, September 2. The J-Hawks go into the battle with a record of 7-2. Jesup won 2-0 in their recent non-league battle against Cascade (Cascade, IA)
