The Nansemond River Warriors (Suffolk, VA) football edged the host Great Bridge Wildcats (Chesapeake, VA), 13-6 in Friday's league bout.

In their next game, the Warriors face the Western Branch Bruins (Chesapeake, VA) in a Southeastern bout, on Friday, September 9. Nansemond River will attempt to advance on its 2-0 season record. The Bruins enter the bout with a 2-0 record after their 2-0 non-league win over Granby (Norfolk, VA).

The Wildcats (0-1) will now prepare for their bout against Manor (Portsmouth, VA). The Mustangs enter the non-league bout with a 0-2 record. In their last bout, Manor was nudged by Deep Creek (Chesapeake, VA), 38-0, in a non-league bout.
