The crowd at Wednesday's non-league bout between the Montgomery County Eagles (Mt. Vernon, GA) and the visiting McIntosh County Academy Buccaneers (Darien, GA), observed Montgomery County's softball team get by McIntosh County Academy by a tally of 13-11.

The Eagles (3-10) will now prepare for their bout against Hawkinsville (Hawkinsville, GA). The Red Devils go into the 1A D-II Region 4 bout with a 1-7 record. In their last bout, Hawkinsville by Bleckley County (Cochran, GA), 8-0, in a non-league contest.

The Buccaneers now hold a 6-12 record. They play next when they host Screven County for a 1A D-II Region 3 contest on Thursday, September 4. McIntosh County Academy will face a Gamecocks squad coming off a 11-2 non-league loss to Greenbrier (Evans, GA). The Gamecocks record now stands at 6-4.
