Georgia High School Softball - McIntosh County Academy topped by Screven County
September 4, 2025: Darien, GA 31305 Screven County Gamecocks (Sylvania, GA) backers left the game pleased Thursday as they saw their softball squad thwart the host McIntosh County Academy Buccaneers (Darien, GA), 18-2 in a league game.
With the triumph, Screven County upgrades its record to 7-4 on the year. The Gamecocks travel to Jenkins County (Millen, GA) to confront the War Eagles in a 1A D-II Region 3 match on Tuesday, September 9. The War Eagles come into the match with a record of 5-6. Jenkins County won 8-7 in their recent league match against Claxton (Claxton, GA)
In their next game, the Buccaneers confront the First Preparatory Christian Academy Highlanders (Hinesville, GA) in a non-league match, on Monday, September 8. McIntosh County Academy will attempt to upgrade on its 6-13 season record. The Highlanders enter the challenge with a 0-3 record after their 17-2 league loss to Twiggs Academy (Jeffersonville, GA).
