September 5, 2023: Wilson, NC 27893 The crowd at Tuesday's league bout between the Fike Demons (Wilson, NC) and the visiting Smithfield-Selma Spartans (Smithfield, NC), saw Fike's volleyball squad beat Smithfield-Selma by a tally of 3-0.
With the win, Fike upgrades its record to 2-5 on the year. The Demons travel to C.B. Aycock (Pikeville, NC) to play the Golden Falcons in a Quad County 3A bout on Thursday, September 7. The Golden Falcons go into the bout with a record of 6-3. C.B. Aycock won 3-1 in their recent non-league bout against Princeton (Princeton, NC)
The Spartans now own a 1-7 record. They take the field next when they host West Johnston for a Quad County 3A match on Thursday, September 7. Smithfield-Selma will clash with a Wildcats squad coming off a 3-0 league win over Southern Wayne (Dudley, NC). The Wildcats record now stands at 4-3.
