September 5, 2024: Americus, GA 31709 Sumter County Panthers (Americus, GA) boosters left the game thrilled Thursday as they saw their volleyball squad nudge the visiting Rutland Hurricanes (Macon, GA), 2-1 in a non-league test.
With the win, Sumter County improves its record to 7-4 on the season. The Panthers travel to Shaw (Columbus, GA) to clash with the Raiders in a 2A Area 1 bout on Tuesday, September 10. The Raiders come into the bout with a record of 4-7. Shaw lost 2-0 in their recent non-league bout against Brookstone (Columbus, GA)
With the loss, Rutland drops to 5-13 on the campaign. The Hurricanes travel to Callaway (Hogansville, GA) to clash with the Cavaliers in a 2A Area 2 bout on Tuesday, September 10. The Cavaliers come into the bout with a record of 4-11. Callaway lost 2-0 in their recent non-league bout against Troup County (LaGrange, GA)
