September 7, 2024: Coos Bay, OR 97420 Fans at Saturday's non-league battle between the Phoenix Pirates (Phoenix, OR) and the host Marshfield Pirates (Coos Bay, OR), saw Phoenix's soccer squad hold off Marshfield by a count of 1-0.
The Pirates (2-0) will now prepare for their battle against Crater (Central Point, OR). The Comets enter the non-league battle with a 0-2 record. In their last battle, Crater was edged by Forest Grove (Forest Grove, OR), 8-0, in a non-league battle.
Next up, the Pirates battle the Mapleton/Siuslaw Sailors (Mapleton, OR) in a non-league battle, on Tuesday, September 10. Marshfield will attempt to upgrade on its 1-2 season record. The Sailors enter the battle with a 1-0 record after their 9-1 non-league win over Sweet Home (Sweet Home, OR).
