September 8, 2024: Gordo, AL 35466 Gordo Green Wave (Gordo, AL) followers went home in high spirits Sunday as they saw their football team triumph over the visiting Hanceville Bulldogs (Hanceville, AL), 54-3 in a league battle.
With the win, Gordo advances its record to 3-0 on the season. The Green Wave host Winfield (Winfield, AL) to play the Pirates in a 3A Region 5 battle on Friday, September 13. The Pirates go into the battle with a record of 2-1. Winfield won 42-12 in their recent league battle against Midfield (Midfield, AL)
The Bulldogs now own a 0-3 record. They play next when they travel to Carbon Hill for a 3A Region 5 battle on Friday, September 13. Hanceville will play a Bulldogs team coming off a 31-8 non-league loss to Colbert Heights (Tuscumbia, AL). The Bulldogs record now stands at 1-1.
