The Blackhawk Cougars football squad scored 15 points and restricted the visiting Mars Fightin' Planets to 14 in the Cougars non-league victory on Friday.

The Cougars now possess a 1-2 record. They put it on the line next when they host Ambridge for a WPIAL AAAA Parkway battle on Friday, September 16. Blackhawk will play a Bridgers squad coming off a 40-34 non-league loss to Neshannock (New Castle, PA). The Bridgers record now stands at 2-2.

Coming up next, the Fightin' Planets play the Indiana Little Indians (Indiana, PA) in a WPIAL AAAA Greater Allegheny battle, on Friday, September 16. Mars will attempt to advance on its 2-1 season record. The Little Indians enter the battle with a 2-1 record after their 23-22 non-league win over Shady Side Academy (Pittsburgh, PA).
