Sun Valley Spartans (Monroe, NC) supporters left the game in high spirits Saturday as they observed their volleyball squad hold off the host Mallard Creek Mavericks (Charlotte, NC), 2-1 in a non-league match.

Next up, the Spartans clash with the Brevard Blue Devils (Brevard, NC) in a non-league match, on Saturday, September 9. Sun Valley will attempt to advance on its 8-7 season record. The Blue Devils come into the match with a 9-1 record after their 2-0 non-league win over Sun Valley (Monroe, NC).

With the loss, Mallard Creek drops to 6-7 on the campaign. The Mavericks host Hough (Cornelius, NC) to clash with the Huskies in a Queen City 3A/4A match on Tuesday, September 12.
