North Carolina High School Volleyball - Alexander Central over McDowell

In Thursday's league challenge, the visiting Alexander Central Cougars volleyball team scored a 3-0 triumph over the McDowell Titans.

The Cougars (9-2) will now prepare for their challenge against Watauga (Boone, NC). The Pioneers come into the Northwestern 6A/7A challenge with a 12-1 record. In their last outing, Watauga defeated South Caldwell (Hudson, NC), 3-0, in a league outing.

With the loss, McDowell drops to 7-5 on the campaign. The Titans travel to Mitchell (Bakersville, NC) to play the Mountaineers in a non-league outing on Monday, September 15. The Mountaineers go into the game with a record of 4-6. Mitchell won 3-1 in their recent league game against Mountain Heritage (Burnsville, NC)
