The crowd at Friday's league contest between the McPherson Bullpups (McPherson, KS) and the host Circle Thunderbirds (Towanda, KS), witnessed McPherson's football squad knock off Circle by a tally of 34-17.

The Bullpups (1-1) will now prepare for their contest against Chanute (Chanute, KS). The Blue Comets enter the non-league contest with a 2-0 record. In their last contest, Chanute gained a win over Field Kindley (Coffeyville, KS), 55-0, in a league contest.

Coming up next, the Thunderbirds encounter the Mulvane Wildcats (Mulvane, KS) in a Ark Valley-Chisholm Trail Division III bout, on Friday, September 19. Circle will attempt to advance on its 1-1 season record. The Wildcats go into the bout with a 1-1 record after their 39-6 non-league win over Independence (Independence, KS).
