Clayton Comets (Clayton, NC) fans went home in high spirits Friday as they saw their football team triumph over the host West Johnston Wildcats (Benson, NC), 55-2 in a non-league battle.

With the win, Clayton improves its record to 3-1 on the season. The Comets host Fuquay - Varina (Fuquay-Varina, NC) to play the Bengals in a Greater Neuse River 7A battle on Friday, September 19. The Bengals come into the test with a record of 3-1. Fuquay - Varina won 20-7 in their recent non-league test against Willow Spring (Fuquay-Varina, NC)

With the defeat, West Johnston drops to 1-2 on the campaign. The Wildcats host Union Pines (Cameron, NC) to meet the Vikings in a Carolina Pines 6A test on Friday, September 19. The Vikings come into the test with a record of 2-1. Union Pines won 34-7 in their recent non-league test against Eastern Randolph (Ramseur, NC)
