The Madison Patriots volleyball team (Marshall, NC), went down 3-0 in Tuesday's league challenge with the visiting Avery County Vikings (Newland, NC)

The Vikings (5-3) will now prepare for their challenge against Owen (Black Mountain, NC). The Warhorses enter the Western Highlands 1A/2A challenge with a 4-4 record. In their last challenge, Owen defeated A.C. Reynolds (Asheville, NC), 3-1, in a non-league challenge.

Next, the Patriots encounter the Mountain Heritage Cougars (Burnsville, NC) in a Western Highlands 1A/2A challenge, on Thursday, September 16. Madison will attempt to move on its 0-8 season record. The Cougars enter the challenge with a 4-5 record after their 3-0 league win over Mitchell (Bakersville, NC).
