The Mattawan Wildcats football team (Mattawan, MI), was beaten 41-14 in Friday's league challenge with the host Portage Central Mustangs (Portage, MI)

The Mustangs (3-1) will now prepare for their challenge against St. Joseph (St. Joseph, MI). The Bears come into the Southwestern Michigan challenge with a 3-1 record. In their last challenge, St. Joseph achieved victory over Lakeview (Battle Creek, MI), 27-21, in a league challenge.

The Wildcats now sport a 1-3 record. They take the field next when they host Central for a Southwestern Michigan challenge on Friday, September 22. Mattawan will meet a Bearcats team coming off a 42-14 league loss to Lakeshore (Stevensville, MI). The Bearcats record now stands at 0-4.
