The crowd at Tuesday's non-league bout between the Polk County Slammers (Stromsburg, NE) and the host Gothenburg Swedes (Gothenburg, NE), observed Polk County's softball team notch a victory over Gothenburg by a final score of 11-1.

The Slammers (3-12) will now prepare for their game against St. Cecilia (Hastings, NE). The Bluehawks enter the non-league game with a 13-4 record. In their last game, St. Cecilia topped Twin River (Genoa, NE), 10-3, in a non-league game.

The Swedes now hold a 8-9 record. They play next when they travel to Kearney Catholic for a C District game on Tuesday, September 16. Gothenburg will face a Stars squad coming off a 4-0 non-league loss to Crete (Crete, NE). The Stars record now stands at 13-3.
