The Northwest Rankin Cougars held off the visiting Meridian Wildcats football team by a count of 29-26 in Thursday's league outing.

With the win, Northwest Rankin upgrades its record to 1-3 on the season. The Cougars travel to Terry (Terry, MS) to confront the Bulldogs in a 6A Region 3 outing on Friday, September 30. The Bulldogs go into the outing with a record of 3-2. Terry lost 41-13 in their recent league outing against Brandon (Brandon, MS)
