In Friday's league match, the visiting Bishop McGuinness Villains football squad scored a close 11-8 victory over the Carver Yellowjackets.

In their next game, the Villains clash with the Corvian Community Cardinals (Charlotte, NC) in a 1A/2A Conference A match, on Friday, September 29. Bishop McGuinness will attempt to move on its 2-3 season record. The Cardinals enter the match with a 4-2 record after their 33-7 league win over Christ the King (Huntersville, NC).

The Yellowjackets (0-5) will now prepare for their match against Community School of Davidson (Davidson, NC). The Spartans enter the 1A/2A Conference A match with a 5-1 record.
