Ohio High School Volleyball - Northview tips Springfield
September 24, 2024: Sylvania, OH 43560 In Tuesday's league challenge, the host Northview Wildcats volleyball team scored a close 3-2 triumph over the Springfield Blue Devils.
The Wildcats (5-10) will now prepare for their challenge against Perrysburg (Perrysburg, OH). The Yellow Jackets come into the Northern Lakes challenge with a 11-2 record. In their last challenge, Perrysburg edged Napoleon (Napoleon, OH), 3-0, in a league challenge.
Next, the Blue Devils play the Ross Little Giants (Fremont, OH) in a Northern Lakes challenge, on Thursday, September 26. Springfield will attempt to upgrade on its 5-10 season record. The Little Giants come into the challenge with a 12-3 record after their 3-0 league win over Whitmer (Toledo, OH).

Northview was led by by sophomore middle blocker, Frankie Ramsdell-Washington with a team high 17 kills, hitting .324, with 5 blocks and 1 ace. Also leading the offense was freshman, middle blocker, Reese Holmes, with 10 kills on 16 attempts, hitting .600. and junior outside hitter, Talia Twigg, with 8 kills and 3 blocks. The defense is what really propelled the Cats with 21 digs from senior libero, Paige LaBudda; 14 digs and 38 assists for a double-double for sophomore setter, Alayna Sauer; and 10 digs for Twigg. LaBudda, Sydney Rogers and Claire Swartz all passed over a 2.00, while LaBudda added a team high 6 aces and Sauer added another 5.
Northview returns to the court on Thursday as they travel to Perrysburg.
