The Southwestern Piasa Birds felled the visiting Litchfield/Mt. Olive football team by a score of 28-17 in Friday's league challenge.

In their next game, the Piasa Birds play the Gillespie Miners (Gillespie, IL) in a South Central challenge, on Friday, October 3. Southwestern will attempt to improve on its 1-4 season record. The Miners go into the challenge with a 1-4 record after their 56-6 league loss to Vandalia (Vandalia, IL).

With the defeat, Litchfield/Mt. Olive drops to 0-5 on the campaign. The host Carlinville (Carlinville, IL) to meet the Cavaliers in a South Central test on Friday, October 3. The Cavaliers come into the test with a record of 4-1. Carlinville won 64-21 in their recent league test against North Mac (Virden, IL)
