Michigan High School Football - Portage Central sneaks past Mattawan

September 27, 2024: Mattawan, MI 49071

The Portage Central Mustangs football squad scored 7 points and limited the host Mattawan Wildcats to 0 in the Mustangs league triumph on Friday.

The Mustangs now hold a 3-2 record. They take the field next when they host Kalamazoo Central for a non-league test on Friday, October 4. Portage Central will meet a Maroon Giants squad coming off a 43-3 league win over Lakeview (Battle Creek, MI). The Maroon Giants record now stands at 4-1.

With the defeat, Mattawan drops to 2-3 on the campaign. The Wildcats travel to Lakeshore (Stevensville, MI) to meet the Lancers in a Southwestern Michigan - West test on Friday, October 4. The Lancers come into the test with a record of 0-5. Lakeshore lost 46-7 in their recent league test against St. Joseph (St. Joseph, MI)
