The Point Pleasant Big Blacks held off the host Fort Frye Cadets football team by a count of 20-13 in Friday's non-league outing.

With the win, Point Pleasant upgrades its record to 2-3 on the season. The Big Blacks host Mingo Central (Matewan, WV) to confront the Miners in a Coalfield AA outing on Friday, October 6. The Miners go into the outing with a record of 5-1. Mingo Central lost 50-20 in their recent non-league outing against Scott (Madison, WV)

With the loss, Fort Frye moves to 4-2 on the season. The Cadets host Caldwell (Caldwell, OH) to confront the Redskins in a non-league outing on Friday, October 6. The Redskins go into the outing with a record of 6-1. Caldwell lost 41-7 in their recent non-league outing against Barnesville (Barnesville, OH)
