September 30, 2022: Lake, MS 39092 In Friday's league game, the Lake Hornets (Lake, MS) football team knocked off the visiting Kemper County Wildcats (DeKalb, MS), by a score of 42-12.
The Hornets (2-4) will now prepare for their game against Newton (Newton, MS). The Tigers come into the 2A Region 5 game with a 3-4 record. In their last game, Newton toppled Nanih Waiya (Louisville, MS), 34-14, in a league game.
The Wildcats now sport a 1-4 record. They take the field next when they host Noxubee County for a non-league game on Friday, October 7. Kemper County will battle a Tigers team coming off a 63-0 league win over Hatley (Amory, MS). The Tigers record now stands at 3-3.
