Fans at Tuesday's league contest between the Independence Patriots (Charlotte, NC) and the host Mallard Creek Mavericks (Charlotte, NC), observed Independence's volleyball team top Mallard Creek by a count of 3-0.

The Patriots (10-4) will now prepare for their contest against West Mecklenburg (Charlotte, NC). The Hawks enter the non-league contest with a 2-16 record.

Next, the Mavericks battle the Butler Bulldogs (Matthews, NC) in a Meck Power Six 7A/8A contest, on Tuesday, October 7. Mallard Creek will attempt to improve on its 4-19 season record.
