The Basha Bears basketball squad (Chandler, AZ), was nudged 80-73 in Thursday's non-league battle with the host Mater Dei Monarchs (Santa Ana, CA)

With the victory, Mater Dei advances its record to 12-6 on the year. The Monarchs travel to Rainier Beach (Seattle, WA) to battle the Vikings in a non-league challenge on Friday, January 2. The Vikings come into the challenge with a record of 9-1. Rainier Beach won 74-70 in their recent non-league challenge against Duncanville (Duncanville, TX)

In their next game, the Bears battle the St. John Bosco Braves (Bellflower, CA) in a non-league challenge, on Saturday, January 3. Basha will attempt to improve on its 9-5 season record. The Braves come into the challenge with a 10-4 record after their 70-58 non-league win over O'Connor (Phoenix, AZ).
