The St. John Bosco Braves (Bellflower, CA) basketball thwarted the host Basha Bears (Chandler, AZ), 63-54 in Saturday's non-league challenge.

The Braves (11-4) will now prepare for their challenge against Santa Margarita (Rancho Santa Margarita, CA). The Eagles come into the Trinity challenge with a 19-2 record. In their last challenge, Santa Margarita knocked off Fairfax (Los Angeles, CA), 72-41, in a non-league battle.

The Bears now own a 9-6 record. They put it on the line next when they travel to Perry for a 6A Premier battle on Friday, January 9. Basha will meet a Pumas squad coming off a 56-51 non-league loss to Willow Canyon (Surprise, AZ). The Pumas record now stands at 6-9.
