Airport Eagles (West Columbia, SC) backers were in high spirits Monday as they witnessed their basketball squad thwart the visiting Aiken Fighting Green Hornets (Aiken, SC), 49-39 in a non-league bout.

With the win, Airport upgrades its record to 5-1 on the season. The Eagles travel to Midland Valley (Graniteville, SC) to play the Mustangs in a non-league bout on Tuesday, January 25. The Mustangs go into the bout with a record of 3-0.

Next up, the Fighting Green Hornets play the North Augusta Yellowjackets (North Augusta, SC) in a non-league challenge, on Thursday, January 13. Aiken will attempt to improve on its 1-4 season record. The Yellowjackets come into the challenge with a 2-1 record after their 47-39 non-league loss to Midland Valley (Graniteville, SC).
