Illinois High School Basketball - Seneca holds off Coal City
January 10, 2023: Coal City, IL 60416 Fans at Tuesday's non-league challenge between the Seneca Fighting Irish (Seneca, IL) and the host Coal City Coalers (Coal City, IL), saw Seneca's basketball squad hold off Coal City by a tally of 56-53.
With the victory, Seneca improves its record to 16-1 on the campaign. The Fighting Irish travel to St. Bede (Peru, IL) to confront the Bruins in a non-league challenge on Wednesday, January 11. The Bruins come into the challenge with a record of 5-11.
Next up, the Coalers confront the Lisle Lions (Lisle, IL) in a Illinois Central 8 challenge, on Friday, January 13. Coal City will attempt to improve on its 6-11 season record. The Lions come into the challenge with a 7-10 record after their 60-44 non-league loss to Joliet Catholic (Joliet, IL).
