Texas High School Basketball - Odessa nips Estacado
January 10, 2023: Odessa, TX 79760 Odessa Bronchos (Odessa, TX) backers were in high spirits Tuesday as they witnessed their basketball squad tip the visiting Estacado Matadors (Lubbock, TX), 61-58 in a non-league bout.
With the win, Odessa upgrades its record to 15-9 on the season. The Bronchos host Frenship (Wolfforth, TX) to play the Tigers in a 6A Region I District 2 bout on Friday, January 13. The Tigers go into the bout with a record of 19-3. Frenship won 90-48 in their recent non-league bout against Caprock (Amarillo, TX)
Next up, the Matadors play the Lake View Chiefs (San Angelo, TX) in a 4A Region I District 5 bout, on Friday, January 13. Estacado will attempt to upgrade on its 12-15 season record. The Chiefs go into the bout with a 5-16 record after their 53-37 non-league loss to Irion County (Mertzon, TX).
