World of Inquiry Griffins (Rochester, NY) backers were pleased Tuesday as they saw their basketball squad hold off the visiting Greece Olympia Spartans (Rochester, NY), 61-58 in a non-league bout.

With the victory, World of Inquiry upgrades its record to 4-7 on the campaign. The Griffins travel to Northeast/Northwest College Prep (Rochester, NY) to play the Panthers in a Section 5 Rochester City Catholic - Lower battle on Thursday, January 12. The Panthers come into the battle with a record of 4-6. Northeast/Northwest College Prep lost 71-56 in their recent league battle against School of the Arts (Rochester, NY)

The Spartans (0-4) will now prepare for their battle against Batavia (Batavia, NY). The Blue Devils come into the Section 5 Monroe County IV battle with a 4-1 record. In their last battle, Batavia edged Vertus (Rochester, NY), 74-71, in a non-league battle.
